Partnerships

Children from Haworth School

Working collaboratively is central to the Ecoversity ethos.

In the past five years we have developed many partnerships both internally with colleagues across campus and externally with our local community as well as local, regional, national and international organisations.

We take an active part of a number of networks such as:

Community

We define community partnerships (external link) at the University of Bradford as the way we work with local communities and the private, public and voluntary sector to understand and build a better more sustainable Bradford District.

The Community Partnerships team (external link) work to understand the ways in which the University of Bradford connects with the City and District and its local communities.

By understanding these interactions we hope to pool resources, connect people and communicate the range of work we undertake with the locality to encourage partnerships and collaborations that will benefit the Bradford District.

Ellen MacArthur Foundation

We are proud to have signed an academic partnership with The Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

The MacArthur Foundation is designed to promote sustainable development through radical transformation of industrial and business modes of design, production and resource use. It aims to equip young people for work in a world of increasingly limited resources and inspire them to re-think, re-design and build a positive future.

In November 2010 Dame Ellen MacArthur chaired an international 3 day summit at the University of Bradford involving 10 leading speakers and activists on the theme of the 'circular economy'.

We were delighted that Dame Ellen MacAurthur returned to Bradford on the 14 September 2011 to speak at the British Science Festival (external link).
