Hope for New Cancer Treatments

Senior Lecturer in Medicinal Chemistry, Dr Kamyar Afarinkia talked at the Otley Science Festival (external link) about new discoveries in cancer medicines being researched at the University.

“It is very important for us to communicate how our funding is helping to find new cures for cancer. It is a message of hope because cancer is a disease that touches all our lives, our friends, family, everybody.”

"The motto for the University is 'Making Knowledge Work' and that's what we're all about. We're about using science and showing the students how that can be used in real life situations, for example curing cancer."
