Dr P.B. Anand works in the areas of institutional economics and governance. His work focuses on public services such as water and sanitation and their regulatory and institutional challenges. His 2007 book and other studies for UNU/WIDER have examined issues related to Millennium Development Goals. His papers on human rights and capability approach have attempted to examine issues in applying Amartya Sen's capability approach to policy and governance issues.
Development Economics and Environmental economics:
designing studies for consulting consumers for public policy,
contingent valuation surveys with a focus on water supply and
waste management, collective action institutions for local
environmental change.
