Evaluation of Conflict Prevention Pools

In 2003, CICS was commissioned to conduct an evaluation of the Conflict Prevention Pools, which are a joint Department for International Development (DFID), Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) instrument for funding and managing the UK’s contribution to the prevention and reduction of violent conflict. The evaluation makes practical recommendations on how the effectiveness of the Pools can be enhanced.

The evaluation, which was conducted in conjunction with the Cabinet Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, HM Treasury and Ministry of Defence, was led by the Department for International Development.

The Synthesis report is based heavily on the findings of the six case study reports and the Portfolio Review that form the basis of this evaluation. All eight reports can be found below:
