New Training Officer

The Centre for Conflict Resolution has recently appointed a full time Training and Development Officer. Michael Fryer will co-ordinate and help deliver the Centre's conflict resolution training programmes. This training ranges, for example, from workshops in schools, through to courses aimed at NGOs and businesses.

Nick Lewer, Director of the CCR said, "This is an exciting development for us. It increases our capacity and expertise enabling us to design, in consultation with clients, high quality training and education."

Conflict Resolution Training in Kosovo/a

In 2002, the CCR is continuing its collaboration with the Training Section of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Mission in Kosovo (OMIK) in the development and delivery of a series of 3 workshops for national and international field staff in each of the Mission's 5 regional centres: 'Understanding Conflict,' 'Facilitation and Mediation,' and 'Conflict Analysis.'   Laina Reynolds Levy and Tamara Duffey are facilitating the workshops. During this year the focus will be on building the professional capacity of Kosovar OMIK staff to progressively take over responsibility for the mission.
