This programme links with and supports the other programmes at the Centre, specialising
in the development of short courses and workshops in conflict resolution for a variety of groups outside the University. Training programmes can be offered at a location of the
client's choice, or on-site at the University of Bradford in the CCR's purpose-built training suite.
Practical workshops in conflict resolution skills for young people, education professionals, school staff and parents
NGO & Business Training
Staff and researchers associated with the Centre have facilitated an extensive programme of training seminars
and workshops, both domestically and internationally. The training events encourage active participant engagement using exercises, role plays and other active learning styles.
Workshops are normally designed on a case-by-case basis, working closely with partners, and in response to their specific needs.
Participants: In the UK and Europe we have facilitated workshops for professional groups
such as diplomats from Eastern Europe, teachers, social workers, health professionals, industrial dispute negotiators, and management personnel. We have also provided training
and seminars for peace and human rights activists, NGOs, church groups and community education projects. Internationally the programme's work has included facilitating
workshops in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Uganda, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Hungary, Kosovo/a, Italy and other locations.
Topics:
- Understanding Conflict: a one day programme offering an introduction to core
personal skills and concepts in conflict resolution. This programme has been offered to a variety of audiences including national and international staff at the the OSCE's Mission in Kosovo (OMIK), and Human Rights Field Officers through the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex.
- Facilitation and Mediation: a two day programme designed in cooperation with
OMIK's Training Section. A highly interactive workshop in essential third party intervention skills.
- Conflict Analysis: a one day programme for all national and international OSCE
staff in Kosovo.
- Conflict Sensitive Project Management
- Conflict Resolution and Negotiation Skills

- UNITAR POCI: Correspondence courses in UN Peacekeeping

- The Online Learning Project
Aims to explore the ways new developments in information and communications
technologies will revolutionise teaching and learning in the field of conflict resolution.
Networking, Outreach and Consultancy
The CCR has links with many organisations including: Saferworld; International Alert;
Responding to Conflict; Quaker Peace and Service; Mediation-UK; European Peace University, Austria, OSCE; OXFAM; University of Castellon; Universite de Paix in Namur, Belgium.
