Defence Threat Reduction Agency International Conference on Controlling Arms, Norfolk Virginia, June 1-4

The Defence Reduction Agency (DTRA) is sponsoring the 8th Annual International Conference on Controlling Arms at the Waterside Marriott Hotel in Norfolk, Virginia, 1 - 4 June 1999. All papers and discussions will be unclassified.

The conference theme, Controlling Arms: The Next Generation, addresses the new security threats that have evolved from changing political, economic and technological realities.

The conference will provide an international forum for government, the military, science, industry, and academia, in the United States and abroad, to discuss national security and arms control-related topics.

Lester B. Pearson International Peacekeeping Training Centre

The Lester B. Pearson Peacekeeping Centre conducts research and provides advanced training and educational programmes. It is an independent organisation established by the Government of Canada in 1994, and is a division of the Canadian Institute of Strategic Studies. The Centre accomplishes its mandate by providing research, education and training courses.
