Who We Are

ETHICAL TISSUE is the name of the licensed Research Human Tissue Bank that was initially established at the University of Bradford in 2002 as a tumour tissue bank.  Our remit is to supply tissue, cells and body fluids to all biomedical researchers across academia and industry.

ETHICAL TISSUE was licensed as a research tissue bank in September 2006 by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and in 2007 ethical status was granted.

ETHICAL TISSUE is based at a business incubator suite of the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics and has a fully equipped laboratory to store and process human tissues for production of fresh, frozen and preserved cells and sub-cellular fractions.
