Donor Groups
Bio-samples collected from healthy volunteers
Bio-samples are obtained from healthy volunteers within the staff cohort of the University of Bradford. The samples collected include, but are not limited to, blood and urine samples.
Bio-samples collected from patient donors
Bio-samples from patient donors are collected at therapeutic intervention. They include:
- Normal and disease tissue from surgical resections
- Surplus bone and skin samples
- Additional biopsy samples
- Surplus /additional body fluids
Bio-samples collected from cadaveric donors
Bio-samples from the deceased are sourced from organisations such as therapeutic tissue banks and collected specifically for research purposes.
Bio-samples collected from transplant donors
Bio-samples from transplant donors are collected when the tissue available has subsequently been found to be non-transplantable or has been specifically sourced for research purposes.
