How We Use Research Samples And Data
ETHICAL TISSUE collects many different types of tissue and body fluids for use in biomedical research. Scientists need these types of human tissue, cells and body fluids for research work into finding out how a disease starts as well as finding different ways of diagnosing and treating a disease or illness. The purpose of ETHICAL TISSUE is to help biomedical researchers involved with preventing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of illnesses such as cancer and diabetes as well as skin, bone and heart disease.
When donors agree to be involved, the samples we have permission to collect are transported to the tissue bank at ETHICAL TISSUE and either used immediately or else stored for use at a later date. ETHICAL TISSUE may send some of these stored samples or products from them to other approved tissue banks or companies both in the UK and abroad to support their research work.
More information on how ETHICAL TISSUE uses samples and data for research purposes can be found in the section entitled Donor Information Sheets.
