The
journey to One Vodafone, Alumni Lecture 6th February 2006
Tim Chapman,
Commercial Director welcomed 40 alumni and guests to the first
Alumni lecture to be delivered by an alumnus of the School
of Management.
Paul Donovan
graduated from the school with an MBA in 1989. Today he is
Regional CEO at Vodafone responsible for 14 subsidiaries serving
more than 50 million customers and with revenues in excess
of £11 billion per annum. He is a member of Vodafone's
Group Executive Committee.
Paul
gave a fascinating presentation on the journey to become One
Vodafone. His personal insights into managing change on a
grand scale were illuminating and participants were also given
some interesting insights into the mobile industry of the
future. Paul's presentation was followed by a lively question
and answer session which touched on ethical issues in the
industry and the implications of EU legislation and issues
to consider around the emerging markets in the sector.
Tyrone
Sequeira, member of the London Alumni group gave the vote
of thanks and encouraged alumni living or working in London
to join the group.
The evening ended with a buffet and the chance to meet old
friends and make new contacts.
