Profile
PROFITS arranges courses to provide continuing education for managers and formulators with the emphasis on the technology and its application. Numbers are limited to 30 to encourage individual participation. Full members are entitled to 2 free places. Associate members organisations 1 free place with all other places subject to availability.

PROFITS also arrange seminars or meetings of representatives of member organisations to report on organisation activities and hear presentations from members, software suppliers and other guest speakers. These are only open to member organisations.

All attendees will receive a free course book containing all presentation materials. This will be used during the course and will provide a valuable reference source

COURSE LEADERS

RAY ROWE

Ray Rowe is a Senior Principal Scientist in R & D at AstraZeneca, advising senior management on future strategy in pharmaceutical product development. He is also Professor of Industrial Pharmaceutics, Unversity of Bradford, and Director of the PROFITS Special Interest Group. He has been involved in polymer coating, powder technology, material science and knowledge engineering for over 30 years and has published over 300 research papers, reviews and patents.

ELIZABETH COLBOURN

Elizabeth Colbourn is Product Director of Intelligensys Ltd and Managing Director of Oxford Materials Ltd and is responsible for the development and promotion of software packages designed to assist product development. A Canadian by birth, she has been involved in materials modelling for over 25 years and has published over 50 research papers and reviews.

DENIS HOWLETT

Denis Howlett is a Director of Isocra specialising in object orientation and user interface design. Formerly he worked at Logica for 13 years, designing and developing Formulogic - a kernel for building advanced product formulation expert systems.

PETER YORK

Peter York is Professor of Physical Pharmceutics, University of Bradford, and founding Director of Bradford Particle Design Ltd, a company based on research and patents in particle formation by supercritical fluids. He has been involved in pharmaceutical material science, particle formation and powder technology for over 30 years and has published over 300 research papers, reviews and patents.
