Membership of the Unit is open to all staff and graduate students of the University who have research and teaching interests relevant to the countries of the region. Our mailing list of those who receive the regular internal newsletter of the Unit now consists of 17 members of the full-time academic or academic related staff drawn from seven Departments. There are six active honorary members of the research staff; and four doctoral students are working on projects relating to the area. There are four other participants.
