University of Bochum – The Institute for International Peace and Armed Conflict has as its main objective to intensify academic research and instruction in the fields of armed conflict and ensuring peace. The Centre deals with conflict and crisis, disintegrated states, the problem of identities, processes leading to humanitarian crisis. Armed conflicts and insuring peace - issues which were traditionally seen as two completely separate levels of research and political activity – takes into account the growing interconnection of these areas of international relations which has appeared in recent years in academic discussions and in the practice of international law.
