The School of Social and International Studies was invited to a reception on Wednesday 15 October 2003 at the Palace of Westminster in the Cholmondeley Room of the House of Lords.
�Bradford � and the World � A Celebration of Cultural Diversity�. A reception and keynote address by Baroness Amos, Leader of the House of Lords.
International development, peace, international relations and cultural diversity � the UK needs to remain committed to high quality teaching and research in these areas to promote peace, security and development overseas and increased understanding of cultural diversity.
As well as the reception and keynote address by Baroness Amos, Leader of the House of Lords (former Secretary of State for International Development), guests also heared about the work of the School of Social and International Studies, met senior members of the University and saw some of the School�s demonstrations and displays.
Guests included leading figures from the international community, local and national politics, development institutions and community organisations as well as the worlds of education and industry.
