Symposium (Roundtable) on Young Men in the District

Starting on Thursday 19 May 2005 and running for two weeks, a Symposium focussing on young men in the local area.

The Programme for a Peaceful City (PPC) Programme for a Peaceful City. would like to announce a Symposium in view of the number of research projects dealing in one way or another with the question of young men. This will be the next two meetings of the Research Hub of the PPC.

Part 1: Thursday 19 May 2005 2.00-4.00pm
Janet Bujra and Jenny Pearce, "The Rioters Research (part 1)"
Tom Cockburn, "Young men and the far right"
Gurchathen Sanghera, "Update on the Bristol/UCL Social Capital & Gender project"

Part 2: Thursday 26 May 2005 2.00-4.00pm
Marie Macey, "The Rioters Research (part 2)"
EJ Milne, "Discourses of Anti-Social Behaviour and Masculinities".

There will be a combination of presentations and a panel discussion in each session. Both events will be on the Mezzanine floor, Room 1 in the Graduate School (on the left in the entrance to the Richmond Building). For details about this location, please see the map of the main campus.
