Fairtrade at the University of Bradford

Fairtrade logo.

The University of Bradford has achieved institution-wide Fairtrade status (December 2006) - making more ethically-sound food and drink choices available for its staff and students.

We now have a Fairtrade Policy, make Fairtrade products available for sale in all campus shops and cafes, serve Fairtrade products at meetings, promote Fairtrade to students and staff and have created a Catering Committee to oversee our Fairtrade initiatives. A variety of Fairtrade products are now available including: coffee, teas, chocolates, fruit, orange juices and cereal bars.

The University hopes that by achieving Fairtrade status our students and staff will become more aware of the inequalities of trade, and the implications of their buying decisions. Fairtrade empowers people to challenge the ways that trade works: every member of a university can make socially responsible choices.

Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade fortnight is an annual event that promotes Fairtrade locally and around the globe.
