EcoversityIdeas into Action ...
.... introducing the Ecoversity Local Sustainable Action Fund
Sometimes you get an idea that would make your workplace better - more green, more caring, more beautiful or just happier - but you're not sure what to do with your idea, or whether it's possible, do-able or acceptable.
The Ecoversity Local Action Group has been formed to support your ideas for Local Action in the University. Whether your idea is to plant a garden, start a singing group, find out what wildlife lives on campus, develop an energy-saving system or create a one-off celebratory event then LAG might be able to help you put your ideas into action. Support might mean more people, time, space, equipment, permission or money.
The aim of the Local Action Group is to help you make your ideas happen.
The Local Sustainable Action Fund can provide financial support for locally managed projects that will raise awareness or change practice in relation to environmental sustainability, well-being or community development. The Fund is £5,000 in total, and small grants of up to £1,000 are available.
Apply to the Local Action Fund for small grants (up to £1,000) to support your project or idea. Use the application form below (available in Word and Pdf format):
Your idea must relate to one or more of the following areas:
Projects demonstrating the following characteristics will have an advantage:
Applications will be considered by the Local Action Group which meets monthly. We might need to ask you a few more questions when we have read your application, but we aim to reach a decision quickly. Then it's over to you!
We will ask you to spend your grant within six months of making your application, and to provide LAG with a short report on your project. And we ask you to acknowledge the Ecoversity Local Sustainable Action Fund in any publicity.
Please remember that funding is restricted and administered on a first-come-first-serve basis so do get your applications in to us as soon as possible as we'd love to hear from you.
