Ecoversity Ambassadors - Main Duties

Ecoversity has an exciting calendar of events and activities that we need to raise awareness of within every Academic School. One of the main roles of an ambassador is to make other students aware and engaged with these activities. This may involve:

Using as many different media as possible to let your fellow students know what is happening and when and how they can get involved – this could be putting up posters or maintaining Facebook activity.
Leading events and activities specific to your Academic School – if it is Fairtrade Fortnight or Travel Week what is happening in your Academic school? You could help coordinate the work of the Ecoversity volunteers and make something happen.
Getting the messages ‘Out There’ – there will be brilliant things happening in your Academic School and you can help other students find out what these are by writing articles for the Ecoversity newspaper; ‘The Seed’ or posting an update on the Ecoversity website.
Attending an Ecoversity Ambassador meeting once a fortnight to meet the other Ambassadors and get support and guidance from the Ecoversity Student Engagement Coordinator.

Time Commitment:
The time commitment required of an ambassador varies throughout the semester- we would however expect a minimum of 2 hours per week. When there is a major event or you may have developed your own project then this will require greater contribution.

You will not be alone!
Ambassadors will be fully supported by the full-time Ecoversity Student Engagement Coordinator – Sheri Leigh Miles. Every School also has a member of staff (an Academic Pioneer) working on embedding sustainable development into the curriculum so we will make sure you are linked in to all this existing activity.
