Costing just £14.50 for a week or £55 for a month the Student Plus MetroCard gives unlimited bus and train travel throughout West Yorkshire. You can travel anytime of day, on the majority of buses and all train journeys within Metro rail zones 1 to 5.
The Student Plus MetroCard is available to anyone under 22 years PLUS mature students of 22 years and over currently in full-time education (+16 hours per week).
Student Plus MetroCards are on sale at Post Offices, staffed bus and rail stations and Metro Travel Centres. To obtain a Student Plus MetroCard you will need to provide:

If you use the Bus and Train - Metro Season Tickets
The University operates a scheme for staff to purchase MetroCards at a 15% discount off the normal cost of an annual MetroCard and pay for it in 12 easy installments directly out of your pay.
Metro have agreed this discount with the University in recognition of our efforts to promote sustainable travel choices and our commitment to developing and maintaining a travel plan.

If you use the Bus – Tax Free Season Tickets
You can now save around a third on annual bus tickets with First Bus or METRO Bus Only tickets. This is a Salary Sacrifice Scheme meaning you save on tax and pay for the ticket in 12 easy installments from your salary. If you would like to use this scheme click on Tax Buster Travel - FirstGroup
If you use the Train – Savings on Northern Rail Tickets
We are in the process of setting up a savings scheme for Northern Rail Tickets. You can get 12 weeks free when you buy an annual train ticket for your journey and pay for it through 12 easy monthly installments out of your salary.
