Twelve months on from Lord Ouseley's report 'Community Pride not Prejudice' the University looks at the positive contributions which are being made, both within the University and in the community, to encourage community cohesion. An eight-page supplement, 'Community Pride not Prejudice - One Year On', includes reflections by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chris Taylor, and the Chief Executive of Bradford Vision, Sharmila Gandhi. Please click here for a pdf of the document (file size: 329,303 bytes) Also included in the supplement are articles on initiatives that have taken place over the last year, including a series of public lectures stemming from the Ouseley report and a visit to the University by Lord Ouseley himself. Other initiatives include the launch of a new Inner City Studies course aimed at people of minority ethnic heritage and projects such as the Summer School and the Junior University. Within the main body of News & Views, we feature news, people and research stories, including the launch of a ground-breaking Clinical Sciences course and the winner of the student photography competition. News & Views is always on the lookout for more research and other stories from departments. Contact Rachael Ellis on press@bradford.ac.uk or call (23)3084.
