The Dutch Connection
The University's International Office recently
hosted a number of young people from Holland - forging a new link to the
country.
Over 40 fifteen-year-olds from Farel College in the Netherlands were
given a guided tour of the University campus by staff from the International
Office as part of an educational trip to Yorkshire, during which the youngsters
also visited attractions such as the Mining Museum in Wakefield and the
Industrial Museum in Bradford.

Polina Cowburn from the University's International Office helped organise
the visit. She said: "This is a first for the International Office to
attract students from the Netherlands and I'm pleased to say it went very
well.
"We asked them to complete a survey indicating their areas of interest
and then we divided them into groups, with numbers going off to various
departments. Biomedical Sciences and Business & Management seemed to be
their most popular subjects."
