As part of the week, pupils in years 11 and 12 from schools in Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford and Keighley, participated in hands-on, Robotics and Eco Design Workshops, demonstrating how science can be put into practical use.

National Science Week shows young people the exciting opportunities science can offer them while providing an opportunity to celebrate engineering and technology's contribution to society generally.

The week encouraged young people to shape the future through science, making the tasks fun and informative.

By taking part in brain-storming sessions and challenging exercises, the sessions opened the eyes of youngsters involved and helped them to understand the academic concepts behind everyday materials and objects.
