Electronic Boost for research into Education issues

Student at a computer.Research, teaching and learning has been made easier with new access to information on papers published in 1000 American and British educational journals via the University's website.

The University's library has subscribed to a new database which will allow staff and students to obtain journals dating back to 1986, including research documents, journal articles, technical reports, programme descriptions and evaluations and curricular materials.

The subscription to the Educational Resources Information Centre (ERIC) and the British Educational Index (BEI) will last until July 2003. Library staff will then decide whether to renew the subscription.

Electronic Resources Librarian Martin Wilkinson said: "The database is an invaluable tool that allows staff, students and researchers to access a broad range of information on educational issues."

The information can be accessed via the library homepage 'Databases' link at www.bradford.ac.uk/library/elecinfo/dbalphab.php

A new journal linking service is also operating across a range of the library's databases. SFX is a powerful new tool that links the library's databases to full-text and other resources.
