Kiana.Welcome

Welcome to the December edition of the University's News & Views magazine.

As the end of term approaches, we are pleased to report a number of successful events that have recently taken place - as well as the usual news, people and research stories.

Firstly, the University's progress in the delivery of the Corporate Strategy is outlined in several articles this month.

We see how the University is harnessing the power of digital information in the University's e-Strategy feature.

Director of Finance Sue Kershaw discusses how the Corporate Strategy will be financed, and we also give an update on other progress with the Corporate Strategy.

Meanwhile, the multi-million pound Cancer Therapeutics Institute (CTI) gets the official go-ahead after securing more than £4.5m towards the cost of the building.

And the Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation (IPI), which aims to make the University a global player in the development of new medicines, had its International Launch in London. The event at the Royal Society was followed by an evening reception at the House of Lords.
