Students donate bras
The Students' Union
recently held a 'Bras on Bars' event to raise awareness of breast cancer.
The Union bars were adorned with bras donated by students, which were
dyed pink as part of a special pink-themed Friday Night Disco (FND).
The evening included
treats of candyfloss, promotions on special pink drinks and pink glowsticks
which were given to every third person - signifying that one in three
people is touched by cancer in some way during their life.
Students and staff
from the Union also held a fast for charity recently as part of the National
Day of Fasting organised by the Islamic Society of Britain.
The event took place
in the first week of the month of Ramadan, during which Muslims all over
the world observe a fast from dawn to sunset.
