Studies recently held a one-day workshop entitled "Dementia Care in Minority
Communities".

The event, which
formed part of the Bradford Dementia Group Seminar Series, included papers
on research and development projects in the Kirklees, Leeds and Bradford
areas. Included in the event, were details of Health Studies' research
and innovation project, funded by the Department of Health, through the
Bradford Health Action Zone (HAZ) initiative.
Attendees included
health and social care practitioners and managers, voluntary agency representatives,
ethnic minority community leaders and academic staff.
Dr David Coates Leader
of the HAZ Project Team said: "The number of people affected by dementia
is growing it is important to raise awareness of the illness amongst minority
communities."
