Amanda Crowfoot, from
UKRO, gave a comprehensive presentation, entitled 'Strategies for EU Research
Funding - how to participate in the EU Sixth Framework Research Programme',
in the John Stanley Bell Lecture Theatre.
The Sixth Framework
Programme (2002-2005) is the largest source of research funding in Europe,
with an approximate budget of around £11 billion over the next four years.
The programme will fund a number of international research activities,
from transnational projects to individual fellowships, primarily focusing
on key technological areas.
Proposal calls for
all subject areas were launched in December 2002 and the first deadlines
are in March 2003.
