Benjamin
Jowett Memorial Scholarships
Four students from
the School of Engineering, Design and Technology were recently awarded
the prestigious Benjamin Jowett Memorial Scholarship.
The four students
were Ilias Beshimov, Ivan Daniel-Sam, David Rees and Jonathan Whittaker.

A presentation took
place in Gallery II, where the students were each presented with a certificate
and a £500 cheque by the Jowett family, John Illingworth, Jenny Reavill
and Constance Jowett. Benjamin Jowett founded the Jowett Car Company in
Bradford in 1906 - Bradford's only major car manufacturer.
His family endowed
the University to support students in Mechanical & Automotive Engineering
at Bradford, with up to seven scholarships awarded each year to students
for academic excellence on admission to the first year of the course.
