Engineering students visit
Europe's leading Satellite manufacturer
Postgraduate students
from the School of Engineering, Design and Technology recently visited
Astrium, Europe's largest satellite manufacturer.
The visit included
a site tour, where it was possible to see some of today's most advanced
telecommunications and meteorological satellites under construction. The
visit was largely made up of students from the Personal, Mobile and Satellite
Communications and Radio Frequency Engineering MSc courses, which account
for about two thirds of the School's MSc cohort of 80 students.
Professor Ray Sheriff
said: "The visit to Astrium helped to re-enforce the academic material
we deliver and illustrated the exciting career opportunities that are
available in satellite communications and radio frequency engineering."
