Successful
organisation - thanks to University
Former student Lourdes
Benavides has the University to thank for making her life better organised
- after winning first prize in the Student Survey Prize Draw, which asked
how the University of Bradford could improve its services to students.
Lourdes won one of
three prizes - a Visor Delux 8MB handheld pocket-size computer donated
by Phoenix Computers. Lourdes was notified she was the winner while in
Spain travelling.
She said: "Winning
the handheld computer was awesome. I never thought I could win the first
prize. My trip just got better with the good news. The handheld computer
has become a part of my daily life. It's my personal organiser, I keep
everything there - phone numbers, addresses, emails, reminders. It is
very useful.
"I want to thank
everyone for having contributed to my great experience in England at the
University. My message to all the international students attending this
year is 'The only limits to success are the ones that you impose on yourself.'"
Former Bradford School
of Management student Lourdes, who lives in Los Angeles, is currently
taking a course in Marketing and Management at Northridge University and
is looking forward to graduating in May.
She said: "My experience
at the School was great. The experience of being an international student
is unique. The thing I liked most about the University was the staff at
the International Office. They were very helpful and supportive. I would
particularly like to thank Marjorie Davies, Daragh O'Reilly and Peter
Morgan."
The second prize -
£50 cash - went to Sarah Poole, while George Bras was awarded a £25 music
voucher as third prize.
