Welcome

As we move into the summer months, we prepare to bid a sad farewell to members of staff who are set to leave the University.

Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council Tommy Ashdown is to retire at the end of July - bringing to an end 34 years of service to the University - whilst, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Pollard is set to leave Bradford for pastures new.

We also congratulate a number of staff on their new appointments, plus we reveal a new Yorkshire Forward sponsored Chair.

We also announce the appointment of Vice-Chancellor Professor Chris Taylor as the new Chair of Yorkshire Universities.

Finally, the University's objective in Making Knowledge Work has been recognised with the successful bid of a £2.4million grant from the Higher Education Innovation Fund to help the region's businesses and communities benefit from its expertise.

News & Views is always on the lookout for more research and other stories from departments.
