Graduates from the University.Welcome

The University places a high value on both student employment and University links with external companies, demonstrated by one of its key values Making Knowledge Work.

These impressive links with industry are highlighted in a number of articles in this month's N&V.

In our main feature, we reveal that the University has been rated seventh out of 99 universities in the country and top university in Yorkshire for graduate employment, according to The Times Good University Guide.

We then take a look at the many initiatives that are helping businesses in the region to exploit the University's world-class expertise.

Other news in this edition includes a commemorative lecture in memory of Professor Colin Bell by Sir Howard Newby as well as the news from our arts on campus.

Finally, there are features on Adult Learners' Week and National Science Week 2004 , as well as a four-page pull-out covering the latest environmental news from the University.

News & Views is always on the lookout for more research and other stories from departments.
