New Counsellor Appointed
The University has recently appointed an eating disorders counsellor within
the University Counselling Service.
Chris
Rolfe-Moore, who has worked at the University and Bradford College Counselling
Service as a volunteer member of the counselling team since 1993, is hoping
to raise awareness of eating disorders.
This newly created post will incorporate research in the field of eating
disorders and is funded by the Government initiative Health Action Zone
which is designed to address this issue.
Chris (pictured left), whose previous professional background is
in health care, is a B.A.C.P. (British Association for Counselling and
Psychotherapy) Accredited Counsellor, qualified Clinical Supervisor and
also lectures in counselling.
Chris aims to offer therapy to individuals and groups and hopes to raise
awareness of eating disorders within the university.
She said: "The incidence of eating disorders in universities and colleges
is very high and the addition of this specialist provision to the counselling
service is a most welcome development.
Chris will be located at the Student
Health Centre on Laisteridge Lane and can be contacted on extension
