Translation

Ferran Esteve, a research student in the Department of Modern Languages, has recently completed translating two books.

Ferran Esteve.Ferran (pictured left) said: "In parallel to my research and teaching task in the department, I work as a translator since 1994 for several Spanish publishers, translating literature both into Spanish and Catalan."

His latest two works are two books of relative importance within the context of the European literature and the Spanish and Catalan cases.

The first one is the first translation into Spanish of Thesee, by the French Nobel-prize winner Andre Gide and one of the most important writers of the century - the book seen as his literary will. The second one is the first ever translation into Catalan of Marcelo Schwob, its title being Vies Imaginaires.
