Science Week
A full programme of events
has been organised for National Science Week, which will run from Friday,
7 March until Sunday, 16 March.
Staff, students and members
of the public are invited to a series of free public lectures, organised
by the School of Life Sciences and entitled 'Science - a matter of life
or death!', which will highlight the ways in which scientific discoveries
can affect our everyday lives. Lectures will cover subjects as diverse
as medical errors, genetic blueprints, bald man-eating lions, forensic
science and the cataract.

Meanwhile, the School of Engineering,
Design and Technology has organised two events for pupils: participants
will build a Millennium wheel in the 'Millennium Wheel Project' on Wednesday,
12 March, and on Thursday, 13 March will build speakers to 'Listen to
Kylie Through a Cardboard Box'.
