TOWER OF STRENGTH

Graduate Micah Duckworth (pictured left) recently made a 500 mile trip from Blackpool to Paris - by pedal power. Micah, who graduated from Interdisciplinary Human Studies in 1993, cycled from Blackpool Tower to the Eiffel Tower to raise money for the National Kidney Research Fund.

He said: " I'd been thinking for some time that I'd like to do something for charity. My brother died of kidney disease so the National Kidney Research Fund seemed the obvious choice."

The group of 18 cyclists travelled around 70 mile a day and stayed at youth hostels along the way. The trip took one week to complete.
