EXCELLENCE 001 - BEST PRACTICE MANAGEMENT The European Centre for Total Quality Management (ECTQM) based at the University's School of Management has successfully completed its first series of Excellence 001 lectures. The Centre has received acclaimed recognition from the business sector and from MBA students for the format and diverse content of the lectures which included several guest speakers from British Airways, BT Cellnet and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The lectures were aimed to build bridges between theories of Change Management and Benchmarking and relate the academic to the practical in the form of case studies presented by various practitioners. Due to the success of the
lecture series, ECTQM are currently drafting plans to hold a similar event
in autumn next year. As Professor Mohamed Zairi stated, "This event did
not only present a challenge to the MBA students but also to the practitioners.
They provided stimulating discussion and relished the opportunity to network
