NEW GUIDELINES HELP WELCOME STUDENTS

Dean of students, Adrian Pearce. For new students arriving at University there's a lot of new information to take on board. To help make this process run smoothly for everyone the University has published new guidelines for students which aim to enhance and enrich the experience students have whilst studying and living in Bradford.

The guidelines come in the form of a booklet, called 'A Learning Community', which clearly sets out what students can expect from the University and what is expected of them by the University. It contains sections on teaching and learning, study methods, work experience as well as information on religion, accommodation, the Students' Union and security.

Dean of Students, Adrian Pearce (pictured left), said: "Bradford is a forward thinking, student centred University, with a firm commitment to confronting inequality and celebrating diversity. "At Bradford we have a wide mixture of students from different backgrounds, religions, and cultures. It is a mix which, we believe, makes the University a vibrant place to be. We want students to get the most out of their experiences at University.

"We hope that this new publication will help make the whole experience run as smoothly as possible, for everyone, by setting clear guidelines from the start."

Copies of 'A Learning Community' are available from Student Information Services in the Communal Building.
