STUDENTS BANKING ON NATWEST Students from the Department were required to write a business plan and NatWest bank provided a prize for students who produced the best financial plan. Left to right: Mark Firth, Margaret Baluka, and Tom Horner. Margaret, Mark and Tom were chosen as winners after they dreamed up a new type of interactive lifestyle game that would operate over the Internet with thousands of participants. The company, TILMAR, was created to develop and sell the game, which won them the prize. NatWest are keen to help developing businesses and the Cybernetics Business Incubator Programme is designed to help undergraduates start up in business. The Cybernetics Business Incubator Programme is part of the Cybernetics degrees aimed at giving graduates the best possible start in their careers. It is a pilot programme which this year will include e-MBA and computing students. The Programme is the first
undergraduate incubator programme in the UK and is another example of
how the Department of Cybernetics and the University are at the forefront
of cutting-edge technologies and in helping to advance the careers of
its students. N&V home | N&V October home | Welcome | Contents | Events | Comments | Corp Comms Home | Uni Home |
