Welcome to the October edition of the University's News & Views magazine.

As well as the usual news, people and research stories, there have also been a number of exciting events happening at the University recently.

This includes the opening of the new clinic at the University to help vitiligo patients from around the world and the launch of the University's new Informatics Innovation Unit to promote the University's work in cutting edge technologies such as cybernetics and animatronics.

The University has also launched new initiatives including the Compact Scheme helping sixth-formers to get into University and Insight Plus, which will help students to gain accreditation for work they do outside of their degree studies.

Meanwhile, the University welcomed back two of its esteemed Honorary Graduates and congratulates academics on their awards and new appointments.

News & Views is always on the lookout for more research and other stories from departments. Contact Emma Scales on e.scales@bradford.ac.uk or call (23)3089.
