The Jacquetta Hawkes archive will be officially launched at the University of Bradford on Monday, 4 April 2005 from 12.30 - 2pm. The archive, which includes notebooks, photographs, love letters and photographs, reflects Jacquetta's remarkable career, which was dominated by her passion for archaeology, expressed in journalism, fiction, biography, popular guide books, academic papers, poetry and plays. She was also a film-maker, broadcaster and peace campaigner. The University is proud to be displaying the archive which will sit along side the collection of her second husband, J.B. Priestley, within the Special Collections section of the JB Priestley Library. Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Archaeological Sciences and the Library's Writer-In-Residence, Christine Finn, has been using the archive to write Mrs Hawkes' authorised biography. Nicolas Hawkes, Jacquetta's son, will be attending the event. Notes to Editors
