Aims and Objectives of our Nursery
- To be aware of and respect everyone’s individual, physical and cultural
needs by providing an equal opportunities setting.
- To encourage parental involvement and acknowledge the importance of
this, by offering continuity of contact with staff.
- To provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children feel
secure, valued and confident.
- To provide a relevant early years curriculum which builds on the child’s
previous experiences to promote future learning and development of their
physical, personal, emotional, social and intellectual abilities.
- To work effectively and equally as a team, respecting and being aware
of each other’s roles and responsibilities.
- To utilise skills in observing, recording and assessing children,
which aids curriculum planning and the sharing of information with parents
and other staff.
- To afford opportunities for children to be actively involved in their
own learning, with a strong emphasis on play and talking.
- To maintain a well-organised physical environment with access to appropriate
resources both inside and out, and to give due attention to health and
safety considerations.
- To employ well-trained staff, who can understand and respond to the
needs of individual children, structure and support their learning appropriately.
- To be consistently aware of staff/child ratios at all times in order
to maintain the highest possible standards.
- To set down appropriate and acceptable behavioural guidelines which
will be consistent throughout the nursery.
- To continually update personal and professional development in order
to enhance the skills and knowledge of the staff team.
