Why did you apply to Bradford?
To go to a highly respected Management School.
What was your first impression of the University and the city?
I thought it was a very nice place to study. I felt that the University encouraged independent learning and was flexible enough to allow me to pursue specific interests.
What did you enjoy the most about your time in Bradford?
Who are you currently working for and what is your job title?
I’m Head of Marketing at Pure Data Solutions.
How has your career developed since leaving the University of Bradford?
I first undertook a Summer Experience@Bradford project in 2008 working with a local catering business. In 2009 I started my own business becoming part of the Think Business@Bradford programme and took on a summer placement student. In 2010 I returned to the Summer Experience programme as a student and was placed with Pure Data Solutions with whom I then continued work through the Bradford Interns programme. The company decided to appoint me as the Head of Marketing for the business.
What is the best thing about what you are doing now?
Negotiating £100,000 deals and building strategic relationships with manufacturers such as HP, IBM and Acer.
What are your goals for the future?
To lead the business into the Managed Services market and quadruple turnover in the next three years.
What advice would you give to current students wishing to get into your career?
Do a lot of additional reading, especially journals, and attend all lectures and tutorials.
