Geography and Environmental Management combines human and physical geography with practical skills of managing people to reduce environmental impacts. You study environmental management tools such as Environmental Impact Assessment, the application of Environmental Management Systems, and government use of environmental instruments, such as the Landfill Tax, to influence consumer and producer behaviour. Through emphasising the practical application of geographical skills, this is a good course for students wanting a vocational focus. It leads to careers such as land use planning, regeneration of despoiled areas or commercial environmental management.
