Traditionally the majority of students register on our Masters programmes for one-year full time studies which provides them with a concise combination of taught modules and research dissertation in their chosen subject. However, it is equally possible to undertake these programmes on a two-year part time basis and there may be very good reasons for doing so:
Students registered full time attend modules worth 60 credits in both their first and second semester and continue during the summer with research on their dissertation. For part time students we accordingly suggest to take approximately 30 credits in each of their four semesters (totalling 120 credits) and to undertake the dissertation in the second summer. Your actual choice of modules has to be based on their academic prerequisites, and your individual preferences and prior knowledge. On programmes with many options (e.g. MA Archaeology, MSc Archaeological Sciences) it may even be possible to accommodate special timetableing requirements (e.g. 'mostly finish at 3pm' or 'no modules on Wednesday') while maintaining academic rigour. Although we endeavour to offer all our modules every year, there may be unforeseen circumstances preventing this.
Not many, really. The few listed below may in fact be exactly what you are looking for!
