A selection of 'things to do' has been included for those of you who wish to explore Bradford and the surrounding area. This list is by no means
exhaustive and the Bradford Tourist Information website is certainly worth exploring.
Within a short commute of the city you are in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Of particular interest are
Haworth, home to the Brontés, and the World Heritage Site
of Saltaire. For those of you who wish to explore the shops, Leeds is only a short train journey away.
Bradford Colour Museum is a small yet fascinating museum close to Morrisons in the city centre. It is run by the Society of Dyers and Colourists. There is a nominal entry charge, and it is advisable to telephone beforehand to check the opening times.

The National Media Museum in Bradford houses a series of interactive galleries associated
with film, photography, and animation. It also has two galleries, one of which will be holding a photography exhibition entitled
Live by the Lens. Die by the Lens at the time of the conference.
Another favourite is the Royal Armouries in Leeds. This museum is a short walk from Leeds train station
and well worth a visit.
Salts Mill in Saltaire houses works by David Hockney including some of his opera sets, as well as
shops and a café.
Several council-run museums and galleries can be found at Bradford Museums. These include
the recently opened Bradford 1 Gallery in Centenary Square; Cartwright Hall, set within the grounds of Lister Park, has a selection of
19th and 20th century paintings, as well as a gallery of South Asian art; Bradford Industrial Museum celebrates Bradford's industrial heritage
and has a programme of exhibitions which, during the time of the conference will be Puzzles & Illusions 'An exhibition of puzzles and
illusions give visitors an insight into how their brain works.'
The Cubby Broccoli cinema, Pictureville and IMAX are all part of the National Media Museum
in Bradford. For more mainstream and current releases there is a Cineworld
at The Leisure Exchange.
Bradford is home to several theatres and venues, most notably the Alhambra Theatre. The Alhambra Theatre Studio is host to smaller productions
and a comedy night 'Bag of Quips', whilst St. Georges Hall generally plays host to music concerts (classical to contemporary) and comedy stand up. Further information can be found at
