Affordable Bradford

Bradford is a great city to live in if you are on a tight budget and a recent Guardian survey found it to be the least expensive place for students to live in the UK.

Bradford is so inexpensive it is surprising that the locals don't want to keep it a secret that they enjoy accommodation, food and entertainment for significantly less expense than some of their neighbouring cities. Accommodation here is cheap, everything you need is in walking distance and there is lots to do in Bradford that is either free or pretty cheap.

On a very limited budget you can experience some original David Hockney paintings at the 1853 Gallery, browse around the shops at Salts Mill, or battle alien starships in the flight simulator at the National Media Museum.

If you need a bit of glitz and glamour you are only a short trip away from Manchester or Leeds and you can shop, smug in the knowledge that you have a little more to spend than the people who live in these more expensive cities!

"One of the best things about Bradford is that it is accessible. The surrounding villages are beautiful too and there is some outstanding architecture. The moors are very close by and definitely worth a visit and there are some very nice parks to visit during the day. You can hear lots of genres of music in the evening, and there are loads of good places to eat and drink near campus"
