Wednesday 31 January 2001 A paper chase or sound business practice? Tendering can involve a mountain of paperwork even in the electronic age. This module will set out to explore some of the practices associated with tendering for goods and services and will provide delegates with some techniques for analysing tenders and getting the right result. Hopefully you may change your mind about the whole process. 2 days - 8 & 9 February 2001 run by Sue Horsley and Lorna Noble. This course is suitable for those wishing to look at insights and techniques for improving inter-personal communication and confidence when dealing with difficult people and situations, e.g. saying 'NO' and managing your time and workload effectively. Being assertive means having the ability to say directly what it is you want, you need or you feel, but not at the expense of others. 23 February 2001, 1.30 - 4.30pm by Lorna Noble & Helen Crabtree, Staff Development This workshop looks at the different types of reports and the planning processes for creating the report and its production and distribution. This workshop was previously offered in February 1998 but previous participants may find it well worthwhile to attend a second time; the experiential nature of workshops offers new opportunities for learning.
