For all staff.

Changes to Catering Services, from Gill O’Brien, Catering Office.

In our endeavour to continually update and improve the Services we offer to all our Customers, we are, with immediate effect, improving the delivery service for all Food and Beverage Services.

  • All Food and Beverages services ordered for delivery in normal working hours and to all part of the University Campus (not just Richmond Building) will now be ‘set up’ by a member of the Catering Staff. Should you not require this service please indicate so on the Catering C1 Form when making the booking.
  • We will also endeavour to remove used items promptly (providing they are still in the room originally requested for service). If items are moved to another location other than that booked, we should be pleased if they could be returned to the Main Refectory as soon as is possible.

On another note, we are also looking at our Vending Services throughout the university, with regard to type of service, location etc. We would welcome any comments that you may have on this matter and also our Hospitality Service.

If you have any comments to make please contact either of the following:

  • Catering Manager: Bob Booth, Extn: 4900,
    Email: X11991@Bradford.ac.uk
  • Executive Chef: David Nuttall, Extn:5850,
    Email: D.Nuttall@Bradford.ac.uk

Staff Development Events, from Helen Crabtree, Staff Development

  • Good Purchasers - born or bred?

Wednesday 31 January 2001
9.30 - 12.45 at Heaton Mount

A paper chase or sound business practice?

Tendering can involve a mountain of paperwork even in the electronic age. This module will set out to explore some of the practices associated with tendering for goods and services and will provide delegates with some techniques for analysing tenders and getting the right result. Hopefully you may change your mind about the whole process.

2 days - 8 & 9 February 2001 run by Sue Horsley and Lorna Noble.

This course is suitable for those wishing to look at insights and techniques for improving inter-personal communication and confidence when dealing with difficult people and situations, e.g. saying 'NO' and managing your time and workload effectively. Being assertive means having the ability to say directly what it is you want, you need or you feel, but not at the expense of others.

23 February 2001, 1.30 - 4.30pm by Lorna Noble & Helen Crabtree, Staff Development

This workshop looks at the different types of reports and the planning processes for creating the report and its production and distribution. This workshop was previously offered in February 1998 but previous participants may find it well worthwhile to attend a second time; the experiential nature of workshops offers new opportunities for learning.

These are all for all staff and you can apply by completing the booking form by clicking here. .

A month by month list of all staff development events is available by clicking here.
