Update on the Network Access Crisis

This updates information posted on the Web earlier this week. Stan Houghton, Director of Learning Support, would stress that the technical team are doing all they can to return the service to its normal state and depend on your support. He should be grateful if you would make sure that all staff in your area are aware of the situation.

Biko Bar Refurbishment

As from 15th December the Biko bar will be closed for refurbishment. The bar will hopefully be re-opening on the 7th January. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause but it is felt that improvements are long overdue. The Student Union Bars would like to take this moment to also wish all its customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Consultation on University Postgraduate Regulations

A University-wide consultation is currently being undertaken following the decision by Senate that the regulatory and procedural framework for taught postgraduate awards be reviewed.

A copy of the consultation document has been sent to Deans of Schools, School Administrators and Secretaries, Heads of Departments and Key people with responsibility for taught course quality assurance. Your views and comments on the questions posed in the document are very important as they will inform debate at the next meeting of the Academic Policy Committee.

The deadline for responses is the 21st January 2002.
